Areej guide
What is the right order for face serums?
One serum. It goes on clean skin, then moisturizer. In the morning, sunscreen is the last step.
The order
- Cleanser, then pat the face dry.
- Serum.
- Moisturizer.
- Sunscreen, morning only.
You do not need five serums stacked on top of each other. A bottle you do not finish every day is not doing the job, even if the formula is good.
Which serum, and when?
- Vitamin C in the morning, a few days a week. Stop if it stings.
- Salicylic acid for breakouts and pores. If your skin is sensitive, do not start it.
- Retinol at night, after the first week, and not in the same routine as acids.
- Eye care for dark circles or puffiness, a small amount, not over the whole face.
Week one is the base only: cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. The treatment starts after that, so you can tell if your skin is comfortable.
If it stings or turns red
Stop the serum and go back to cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Sensitive skin means no extra step. Retinol and acids do not go on the same night.
The full routine, before any serum, is in daily care.
