Areej guide
What is the right routine for oily skin?
A gel cleanser, a light moisturizer, and sunscreen. Oily skin is not a reason to skip moisturizer.
Morning
- Gel cleanser.
- Light moisturizer.
- Sunscreen.
Night
The same cleanser and the same light moisturizer. No sunscreen at night. If there is a treatment, it comes after the first week, before moisturizer, and there is only one.
Breakouts and pores
If your skin is not sensitive, salicylic acid is the treatment that fits breakouts and pores. If it is sensitive, do not add an acid. Stay with cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Retinol does not share a routine with an acid. The order is on the serum page.
Shine is not a reason
Dropping moisturizer because the face looks shiny often makes skin produce more oil. A light moisturizer hydrates without sitting heavy. A harsh cleanser, used over and over, does the same thing: clean for a few minutes, then a stronger shine.
If the forehead, nose, and chin are oily and the cheeks are dry, that is combination skin. The steps stay close to the oily routine unless the cheeks feel tight.
